About Yoga House

YOGA HOUSE is your neighborhood yoga studio that lies a step away from home. We are located in The Greens - Emaar Business Park, and we offer a range of Yoga and Pilates classes including Hatha, Vinyasa, Power and Yin Yoga, and Mat Pilates.

YOGA HOUSE also pays close focus on Mother and child yoga. We provide several classes including Pre Natal, Mommy and Baby, and soon we will be offering toddler, and kids yoga classes.

About Yoga

The word yoga comes from Sanskrit, an ancient Indian language. It is a derivation of the word yuj, which means yoking, as in a team of oxen. In contemporary practice, this is often interpreted as meaning union.

Traditionally there are different types of yoga: Anusura Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga. Several new versions have been promoted as yoga for weight loss and toning up like Power Yoga and Bikram Yoga. Each of the traditional variations of yoga has its own health benefits, all the while focusing on building your core, aiding weight loss, and connecting the mind with the body and spirit.

This is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. The poses can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement (vinyasa-style yoga) or more slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of the pose. The poses are a constant, but the approach to them varies depending on the yoga tradition in which the teacher has trained.
