About Lara Bogdanovic, Yoga Instructor

When Lara discovered yoga, Lara discovered Life.

Search for inner peace and healing brought Lara onto the yogic path. Discovery of Ashtanga yoga and the emphasis on the powerful breath-movement connection provided her as a tool to a greater self exploration and journey to the soul. This non competitive practice and link between emotions and physical sensations, emotional and mental blockages that are stored in our bodies, provided her as a tool for a greater self exploration and a journey to the soul. She encountered an extreme calling to help others on their healing journeys as she felt obliged to share this discovery, knowledge and benefits she has experienced through yoga.

Inspired by Ashtanga method, Lara soon embarked on a trip to Rishikesh, India, where she studied Ashtanga Vinyasa at Tattvaa Yoga Shala with Yogi Kamal Singh and completed her 200hr RYT. Intrigued by the practice and teachings of David Garrigues, certified Ashtanga teacher, Lara went to Kovalam in India to practice with David for one month & take part in his Teacher's Intensive Program.

Her thirst for knowledge led her further to Level 2 training in Bali with highly recognized teachers Gregor Maehle and Monica Gaucci where she qualified with 500 Hrs RYT.

Lara keeps on expanding knowledge with her daily Mysore practice at Ashtanga Yoga Dubai and with yearly trips to practice with David in Kovalam.

Her aim is to spread the healing power of all the 8 limbs of Ashtanga yoga, removing the focus from asana to a whole integrated yoga practice which includes pranayama ( breathing) & mediation. She believes that students of all levels can experience full benefits of such systematic practice which then enables students to connect with their breath, go inwards and experience healing and deeper understanding of the world they live in, so they can contribute to humanity by sharing the light of yoga.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois; This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body and a calm mind.

Lara is motivated every day to be a better version of herself by practicing yamas and niyamas - ethical principles and attitudes from classical yoga system given in Patañjali's Yoga Sutras, so she can give her best to the students.

Lara has also completed a Level 1 Hypnotherapy course, as well as Heal Your Life workshop, by world recognized and acclaimed motivational author Louise Hay. She openly shares her yogi experiences and spiritual journey on her authentic blog Leap of Soul.
