About Dhyana Dubai- Pilates

Dhyana Yoga is a Luxury Fitness studio with the state of the art Pilates Mat & Reformers classes along with different fitness classes located in The Oberoi Hotel, Business Bay, Dubai, catering to myriad needs of the clients, to help them reach their desired fitness level with Yoga, Pilates. Dhyana is the only Studio in the 5-Star Hotel with the 5-Star Facilities and ambiance . In the constantly booming and ever spreading corporate world, around the globe, technology has replaced manual labor. In most industries, we work through computers & machines. Physical work has reduced tremendously and we spend a major part of our day sitting on a chair, starting from breakfast in the morning to sitting in the office, travel by bus, train or taxi, watching television, and so on. Though sitting requires less physical effort than standing or walking, it puts a lot of stress on the lumbar area. Combined effects of a sedentary lifestyle and a job that require sitting can lead to many health problems. After imprisoning our bodies in a chair for several hours in a day and with the ever increasing stress & strain that one undertakes every day, this gives rise to Back Pain, Neck Pain, Sleeping Disorder, Body Stiffness, Fatigue and Depression among other problems.

About Pilates

Pilates is a physical fitness system that was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. Pilates was formed by Joe during the First World War with the intention to improve the rehabilitation programme for casualties. During this period, Pilates was designed to aid injured soldiers in regaining their health by strengthening, stretching, and stabilising key muscles. Joseph used to say: ‘When I am dead, they’ll say “He was right”. I’m fifty years ahead of my time’. And he was!
